Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of chuck steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tablespoons of Spice Rack Co's Savoury Steak rub
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
- Olive oil
- Salt to taste (if not included in the rub)
Instructions:
- Pat the steak cubes dry and coat them with the Savoury Steak rub.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown the steak cubes in batches, then transfer them to a slow cooker.
- In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the onions, carrots, and celery until slightly softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute before transferring the vegetables to the slow cooker.
- Pour the beef broth into the slow cooker. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is tender.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve with crusty bread or over a bed of mashed potatoes.
