Ingredients:
- 2 New York strip steaks, about 1-inch thick
- 2-3 tablespoons of Spice Rack Co's Savoury Steak rub
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- Olive oil
- Fresh rosemary and garlic (optional)
Instructions:
- Bring the steaks to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
- Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over medium-high heat.
- While the pan is heating, pat the steaks dry and coat them with olive oil.
- Rub the Savoury Steak seasoning into the steaks on both sides.
- Once the pan is hot, add the steaks. Add the butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan if using.
- Sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on one side until a brown crust forms.
- Flip the steaks, spooning the melted butter and juices over the top, and sear for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
- Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with roasted fingerling potatoes and a simple arugula salad.
